1 Corinthians
9:22 (NLT) When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to
bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing
everything I can to save some.
Paul
says he did everything to rescue people. It is clear from the testimony of the
New Testament that this is true. It wasn’t just that Paul was willing to suffer
opposition and persecution but he was willing to use everything, his wisdom,
his energy, his weaknesses as well as his strengths. He sought the common
ground, we see this in the way he presented the Gospel in Acts. He identified
with his listeners and used language they used and concepts they understood. He
was willing to be a fool, weak, a strict law abiding Jew and a gentile ‘dog’. He
broke down every barrier he could to reach others and see God save them. What
are we willing to do? Do we care that much?
Father
may we feel your heart for the lost
