Mk 15:43 RISK taking for Jesus

Mark 15:43 (NLT)  Joseph of Arimathea took a risk and went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. (Joseph was an honoured member of the high council, and he was waiting for the Kingdom of God to come.)
Joseph a secret believer according to John took a risk. It was a huge risk, for him a prominent member of the Jewish council to be associated with a man accused by his fellow leaders of blasphemy and leading a revolt against the Romans. Joseph not only risked expulsion from the council and public disgrace but arrest and summary execution at Pilate’s command for even daring to ask for Jesus body. Joseph was willing to honour (worship?) Jesus by giving him a righteous burial. He was willing to take the nails out and carry Jesus tortured body though good religious Jews would not even touch a dead body for fear of contaminating themselves. Joseph was willing to stand for what was right no matter the consequences and get his hands dirty. Are we?
Father may we be as bold as Joseph was in serving you.
