Habakkak 3 Walking the High Places with God

Habakkuk 3:17-19  Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD,  I will be joyful in God my Saviour. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.
Material blessing and emotional stability has never been guaranteed for God’s people, in fact it is likely we will face turmoil, anguish and heartache at times as we seek to faithfully serve our Lord. Those things or people we often rely on may disappoint us through no fault of our own but we still have reason for joy. Our Lord who is by nature good has not changed, he has guaranteed never to turn away from us. He is utterly dependable and will give us what we need to face the challenges of today, in deed more than face the challenges, we will tread the heights with Him if we are willing to.
Father, may I not settle for survival or even better than average today, may I express joy as I walk in the high places with you.
