Lk 10:5-6 “When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace
to this house.’ 6 If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace
will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.”
It is easy to
find those who enjoy an argument or are hostile to the Gospel and it is tempting
to spend time with these people in an effort to win them. However arguing
people into the kingdom doesn’t work, we are better off focusing on those who
are open. If we seek out those who promote peace we may not only help them to
know Jesus but they may also lead us to others. Let us not just follow the
custom of many cultures by greeting people using the word peace but let us go a
step further by blessing their homes with word and action as we bring the
Prince of Peace to them.
Father,
may we be a channel of peace and blessing to those who don’t know you.
