Luke
10:16 (NLT) Then he said to the
disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone
who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God,
who sent me.”
We
who are disciples of Jesus have an awesome responsibility. We who bear His name
and claim to follow Him embody Jesus’ message and life. We are sent out by God and
may be the best chance some people have of ever responding to God’s claims on
their lives. We are called to be a sweet perfume attracting people to God and the
stench of death to those who reject Him. The way we look at people, how we
express ourselves, the way we do even mundane tasks, communicates a message.
Does it communicate our intimate ‘friendship’ with our creator or a careless
disregard for Him?
Father
help us to live up to your high calling, may I be Jesus to those I meet today.
