Matt 5:5 Blessed are the Meek
Yesterday we looked at mourning over
sin. It’s important we don’t take this too far and wallow in failure or self
condemnation. We need to think right about ourselves which brings us on to
meekness. The meek are not weak but those who are content with who they are in God.
Selfless and ready to serve others, they are willing to humbly submit their
abilities, power and emotions to God for His use. The meek are not striving to
gain what they haven’t got or struggling with low self esteem but confidently
trust in their Lord. God can trust the meek and will bless them with the new earth
spoken of in Revelation 21:1.
Lord help me to be content with who you made me to be, neither striving nor struggling but resting in you.
