Matt 5:7 God blesses those who are merciful…
God has shown
us great mercy by coming to earth entering ‘our’ world living with us, sharing
our pain and distress and dying for us though we didn’t deserve it. We are
called to follow God’s example and that of the ‘Good Samaritan’ by having mercy
on those in need despite possible personal risk and cost. We have been shown
great mercy (Mt 18:21-35) and need to show a similar attitude. Easy to say but judgmental,
critical and proud attitudes may prevent us from responding with compassion.
Forgive
my sin father and help me to forgive others, may I be truly merciful.
