2 Peter 1:3 God's Power Gives us Everything We Need

2 Peter 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.  (NLV)

We often fail, we give into temptation, we do wrong without thinking, and even our thinking is seriously off track. One thing we need to do is believe that God does supply all we need to stay on the right path. We can live a life that pleases him despite our natural tendency to fail. How do we release God’s power into our life? Part of the answer is to allow the truth of God’s word to change our thinking, our attitudes and therefore our behaviour. The Good News we need to believe is that God has chosen us to be his children and his intention is for us is to express his goodness and reflect his glory. We can only do this by remaining close to him. There is no room for us to do whatever pleases us instead we need to have our eyes and ears open to what he is doing and saying. Lord help me to believe your word and allow it to change my thinking.
