Revelation 2:4 (NLT)
But I have this complaint
against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first!
Jesus is
speaking and we need to honestly ask ourselves the question whether we love
Jesus now as much as we used to love him when we were most committed. Have we
got comfortable with our Christian lives? Have we reached a plateau or worse started
to turn back? Many who have been very committed believers have failed to remain
faithful. Our love for Jesus can grow cold and our love for others can melt
away in the face of familiarity or conflict. Jesus commands his
people to turn back to Him. We do this by admitting there is a problem (confess
it) and seek his help to overcome it (repentance).
Lord show us what is stopping us
from loving you and those around us wholeheartedly.
