Jude
1:20 (NLT)
But you,
dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the
power of the Holy Spirit...
Much of Jude’s short letter warns believers of
those within the church who abuse God’s grace and live for themselves. They set
a bad example and lead people astray. We on the other hand should be seeking to
build each other up in our most holy faith. Holiness is not a popular subject
in some churches and yet living a life pleasing to God is our calling. In the
first verse of Jude the writer says he is a slave of Jesus. Does this represent
our own attitude to the Master? We have no rights, we belong to Jesus, let us
serve him faithfully as we serve those around us. Help me Lord to be a faithful slave today.
