14:15 If you love me, you will obey my
commandments
The
importance of obedience is repeatedly stressed by Jesus. And I suggest a lack
of obedience is probably the biggest single problem in the British church. We
may feel we are doing well to attend a house group bible study or spend time
discussing what the Bible teaches but what difference is God’s word making to
our everyday lives? We may have a reasonable grasp of the essentials of the
Gospel and be familiar with many Bible passages but are we growing in our love
for God, our love for our neighbour and our love for other believers? Lord
show me where I am not obeying you.
